Family Matters in Real Estate

Welcome to an inside glimpse of our partnership and a reflective first blog to share a little about the “same us” reflected in a fresh, new way. Our hope is that it will help define us in an even stronger way as a mother and daughter realtor team that is committed to “Our family helping yours”.

It may look easy but growing our deep family roots and strong relationship has taken work and commitment to now become partners within our community and business.

Deep Roots and Strong Relationships are powerful attributes to define a healthy and vibrant family and that has been very true in our mother-daughter relationship. We both feel blessed to have had each other in our lives as mother-daughter, then friends and now partners.

When we decided to weave our two careers into becoming a dynamic real estate team, the benefits to each other and to our community significance became very apparent!

We understand the importance of roots and relationships.

We also understand that when in the thick of a real estate transaction, families can become stressed and run into roadblocks trying to agree on decisions regarding their investments. Sometimes real estate transactions can shake those branches and the roots of our most important relationships.

When working through tough decisions related to our biggest investments, it is helpful to establish guidelines before your Real Estate process begins. Here are three simple rules we implement and encourage that seem to help:

  1. Everyone has a voice! Taking the time to ask questions to each other is so important in order to gain consensus. For us, we both bring unique experiences, preferences and perspectives to our partnership and recognize them!  When you apply the rule that everyone has a voice, you show you are ready to recognize each other’s personality, skills and values as you negotiate through tough decisions and the detailed elements of an offer.

  2. Stay on topic! No one needs to discuss your last real estate experience or household argument from last weekend. Aim to be specific to the immediate situation and investment. We use our professional hats to serve our community effectively when working our business but when enjoying our family traditions, we leave Real Estate at the office.

  3. Connect with a trusted Realtor for the support you need! Ensure all parties that are part of your real estate contract agree on your realtor and see them as a trusted professional working alongside everyone involved. It is crucial to pick a realtor that you can trust! Although your realtor is not a mediator, an objective trusted professional can help to frame the pros and cons of your decisions without the emotional variables, allowing you to be guided toward a process of effective decision-making.

For those of you who have been a part of our family or business, you are our cherished relationships that have fuelled our energy and showcased our expertise with your loyalty. Every connection is such a statement of the deep roots and relationships that we already have.

Through this monthly blog, we want to grow and cultivate authentic relationships, adding value to your quality of life within our Community and offer knowledge about the biggest investments of your life.

Welcome to Our family helping yours.
